entertain and educate with passion and style” KevinPrice (Head of Brass RWCMD)

Bute Brass was formed in 2006 and is quickly establishing a reputation as one of the leading young brass quintets in the UK, and in 2008 won the Royal Northern College of Music Intercollegiate Brass Quintet Competition. They will play a wide range of music with the emphasis on starting off the festive season and their programme is expected to include 'Troika', 'Sleigh-ride' and the Malcolm Arnold Quintet.

Simon Lepper & Sarah Field
Sarah Field

“Absolutely fabulous” as described on BBC Radio 3. Sarah's professional work is diverse and wholly unique. Performances have taken her from the Brit awards with pop legends Westlife to Hummel's Trumpet Concerto at the Southbank to the UK premiere of Stockhausen's “Abduction” for saxophone and electronics.

Simon is an official accompanist for the BBC Singer of the World Rosenblatt Song Prize and Yehudi MenuhinViolin Competition. Together, he and Sarah will be playing works by James Whitbourne and Schulhoff, as well as the more familiar Debussy and Bach.

Before the concert, light lunches will be served from 12.00pm in St Michael's Rooms.
